About MacKenzi

I’ve spent my entire life chasing speed and precision. For 11 years, I basically lived on the ice as a competitive figure skater. Eventually, I traded in those figure skates for long track speed skates. During the off-season from speed skating, I spent a lot of time on my road bike, which naturally opened the door to triathlon. That passion for pushing my limits ended up landing me a spot on Team Canada's Age Group triathlon team, giving me the opportunity to race in Australia, Spain, Switzerland, and Denmark.

You could say hockey is in my blood, too. My dad was drafted into the NHL by the Detroit Red Wings back in 1973.

Having spent the past 15 years coaching, I’ve watched the speed of the game evolve. Today, it’s faster and more demanding than ever, but I truly believe hockey is won in the "in-between moments." It’s not just about who can skate the fastest in a straight line; it's about how efficiently you transition, how quickly you turn, and how fast you can recover your stride in a tight spot. I love using my unique background to help players master those split-second moments, find their edge, and completely out-skate the competition!
